These pieces are experimentations using different types of paint and applicators.  I very much enjoy working physically like this.

The images on this post contain 3D pieces that I have made over the course of the foundation diploma.  They all represent different projects and are all made from different materials.

The above is from a project based on studying a pair of shoes and then creating a replica using different pieces of recycled wire.

The birds are from a project where I designed a model to sit upon Trafalgar Square's fourth plinth.  My inspiration came from my trip to London and the amount of pigeons I saw flying around.  I decided that since feral pigeons take refuge in cities it is only fitting they are recognised in a work of art.

This project was the result of studying a common household object.  I made a key refelcting opposite properties to what keys are typically.  I choose to make a key out of material and sewed it together.  The piece is floppy, completely unlike an actual key.

The cat is from a project where we turned a plain white shirt into a sculpture which is of personal interest to us.  I made a skeleton out of card and covered it with the pieces of torn up shirt.  This model can be illuminated from the inside with a small torch or a tea light candle.

This post is a compilation of some of my best life drawing works.  They have been created in a variety of materials from pencil to charcoal to paint.  Many of them are accurate pieces, the outcome of drawing from looking, and some are abstract.  Enjoy!

“… My need to study illustration and animation is driven by my passion for art and making images that move physically and emotionally.  I wish to learn to create art that stands alone without words and preconceptions.  I have a desire to inspire viewers and other artists with my work.  I would love the opportunity to study illustration and animation in order to become successful in my future careers.  I feel that achieving a degree in my chosen subjects will  enable me to reach my full potential.

The work I have selected shows evidence of my artistic abilities, usage of different media as well as my skill for re-creating form and structure with style and accuracy.  I have chosen work that is both realistic in its appearance and is suggestive.  Most of my work is energetic and animate, showing character and heart as well as proficiency.   Some of the works I have included are from life drawing sessions and live briefs that deal with both 2 and 3 dimensional work.
One of my favourite works is “Forest girl”.  This piece was initially an experimental exercise studying the properties of  different paint.  It incorporates the raw beauty of the female form emerging from a chaotic setting.  I love this piece as it demonstrates passion and energy.  Each second I was painting was exciting.

“Eldine Dance” is a study that I am very passionate about.  It demonstrates energy, dignity and pride.  I love that the figures look enigmatic, content, and carefree, capturing the confident quality of the life models I worked to  form make the figure appear realistic relaxed and full of life. ...

Ultimately, I want to work in a professional context, creating pieces with a purpose.
